September 2011 - "Life is a moving target!" - DONE

SEPETEMBER begins with a bang.  The "busy"ness of school and fall sports always blasts you in the face after the summer winds down.  The crossover days of weather changes...almost hourly here in Utah, the sun still being up on a school night, and busy busy schedules resume.  I heard a commercial today the hit close to home! "Life is a moving target!(that seems like an understatement)

Just today... Wake to see that the garage door had been left open all night. Jeff gone, check to see if anything is missing, nope, just as cluttered and messy as the day before! Search for costume for spirit week nerd day /jersey day and character convention day 2nd grade.  Pippy Longstocking is the request, yes, I have that costume already, just a few alterations to make it smaller, done.   Labs to be drawn and delivered at lunch time, laundry started, plan to stop at Wendys; to get lunch for Davis to eat while we draw labs, doughnuts bought for a side to share at court of honor tonight, ( homemade side dish NOT happening today) hair appointment at 2pm, arrange for driving to acting and Ben has scouts, check first morning pee color before the flush, dog barking to go out, sprinklers on, wet dog, open blinds; “oh, what a beautiful morning” pick the last two fresh peaches off the tree for breakfast.  Love the seasons changing, hate when some things end, however, chin up for the next season to come. Notice all the fall trimming to be done, keep walking, that’s another day.  Love how big and full the yard is getting after 7 years.  Check balance on college account so Coco can buy gas and pay rent.  Phone conversations of reassurance that life is great and "school and boys really are worth it"..chin up! Board of review meeting set up that slipped through the cracks so that Ry can get rank advancement tonight, laundry changed, Ry, scout clothes gathered to take to hair appointment, pick up early from football for a change in the car, to make it to scouts to help with flag ceremony, sign planners, finish the forgotten back side of a homework page.  Shopping and to do list made to go out of town and leave food for kids, Ben shoes have a hole in them great that was not on the to do list.  Breakfast out…breakfast put away, last minute request for home lunch…denied.   Pass and stop at the wall with plastered holes to be repaired that has been that way for three months now, just keep walking!  Get freezer meat ready to have for Courtney over the weekend, Ben wants to be a banana for Halloween? Try to convince him to be one of the costumes we already own in the Halloween box…trying to persuade Ben that we will talk about it later, don’t miss the bus, hair to be done, set out movie to return. Laundry changed over. Plants watered. Beds made. Laundry folded.
Arrgh, last week I was in Seattle, eating crab legs, on the pier with Jeff.
Drying parsley from the garden, put in freezer bags. Thoughts about missed VT this month. Momentary guilt. Attempts to contact made again. Check emails: Read email about having a family home evening about emergency preparedness. Overwhelmed, changed the email to a Groupon deal for 50% of a one hour massage, or 75% off house cleaning.  I’m all over that!  Well, funds need to go elsewhere, massage another day, and I’m sure someone will argue at some point today and the kitchen floor will get mopped as a reprimand!   I love the "jobs as an encouragement to stop the sibling bickering"…some days my house is very clean!   Emails about parent teacher conferences, oops…yesterday.  Forward final brochure copy for the bake shop to go to print for Dallas Expo. Go back to the FHE and read, ”If ye are prepared, ye shall not fear.”  Love that promise.  Plan a family night to become closer to being prepared, say a prayer for safety within the days before that is accomplished!  Yay! it’s only 10:17 am, what is the rest of the day looking like…Life IS a moving Target!  Happy Wednesday!
