Happy Holidays 2010!

Happy Holidays to all!

Our family is happy to be celebrating this holiday season.  We have been so blessed to have had the opportunity to rely on our belief in Christ a little more intently this past year.  The understanding of the atonement and the gratitude for our Savior has been a huge part of our lives and is especially tender during the holiday season.

Davis' follow up labs after a viral cold this past week have dropped.  His immunity took a dip that we haven't had for two months.  He sits on the fence of it being compromised, as we readjust back to increased hand washing and precautions around all the bugs that are everywhere during this time of year.  The hopes are that as he recovers from the cold, his labs will recover as well.  We all know that things can change day to day. Other labs like platelets and hematocrit although lower, are maintaining. A few grumbles went through the house as the thoughts of going back to the intense and I will admit bordering psycho routine floated in our heads.  These complaints quickly turn to compliance and concern as Ben prays that Davis' levels will "get healthy again."

As of today, he is still able to be around and about.  He drove home from an appointment in Salt Lake today and is becoming quite the driver.  We stopped for an eggnog milk steamer and he did mention, however, that we should probably not take our lids off while he was driving. Yes, the stops and go's a bit jerky still, but corners are much more smooth!   He is feeling fine.   A few headaches and fatigue, however, still "DOING" as much as he can possibly sneak into a day!

We hope with the extra precautions, we can keep him well and give him the best opportunity to bounce back.   We will repeat labs a few times over the holidays to keep close tabs on the levels.  Although this changes our holiday get-togetherness just a bit, we are daily grateful for the blessings that we continue to share as we celebrate health, happiness, friends, family and 2010.    What a year!

Here's looking to 2011!  On second thought, here's to a strong finish for 2010.
