Party Time!

 Happy 15th Birthday Davis!

We had a big weekend of celebrating Davis!  The actual birthday began with breakfast in bed, fifteen French toast fingers and enough candle smoke to set off smoke alarms.  Then after school it was off to the DMV for a driver's permit.  Davis did a great job driving home and even made it through his first stop for gasoline quit smoothly.  A few more months...or perhaps the whole year of practice and he will be a pro!  Barbecued ribs for dinner, a cake from Grandma(thanks) and another smoke alert finished the day off adventurously?

The next day, we all headed to Buca di Beppo for the platelet party and birthday celebration.  Buca was accommodating with a good gluten-free menu, amazing Italian fare and a round of singing with a birthday dessert.

                                                                     Even the calamari was good??

The day for me was full of the typical mother memories of adding a little boy to our family 15 years earlier, the lifetime of love and of course the past year.  My heart was once again so full of wonderment for the very fact that we were celebrating a birthday, experiencing a right of passage with a driving permit and cheering on the recovery process.  I am so grateful for teenagers in my life.
