September 9, 2012 - Birthday and Baptism Day - PHOTOS table treats at church

Emily Briana Cox
Birthday and Baptism Day-September 9, 2012

We had the opportunity to again cherish the experience of a beautiful, "regular" event within the irregularity of our lives.  We were kindly granted special permission to baptize Emily on her birthday Sunday September 9  before Davis began treatment on Monday the 10th.  Emily had made plans and had been looking forward to Davis being the one to baptize her for a long time.  I did everything to make it happen for the two of them as well as the rest of our family.  It was one "regular" happening that I felt emotionally needed to happen for everyone. Emily had such fun all month preparing for her day.   We have been reading baptism books and practicing getting baptized!  She was thrilled that the day got moved up three weeks... and on her birthday too!  We had fun traveling to Logan on Saturday for a cousins baptism and then attend the open house of the Brigham City temple.
A special moment in white that Davis and Emily
will both remember and cherish forever!

It is so fun to have and 8 year-old
to keep you feeling young!

She also had such fun taking baptism photos around town with Aunt Makell.  The month has been full of tender 7year old spiritual moments.
The day was all for Emmi.  We have early morning church now so she decided that she would come home after church at noon and get back in pajamas for "brunch" instead of breakfast in bed! She had the best "morning hair-do of any birthday breakfast photo!  She said that she didn't want the day to go fast, but then she sort of did want it to go fast.  As the night approached, she says, "finally the day is here and now the time is here too!"  the special, I am 8 and so excited to be baptized, grin on her face all day is just what we needed to remind us of the good things in life.

Ahh, a CTR ring!

My very own scriptures!

Her spirit has always been a tender mercy in our home and today was no exception. It was an amazing night full of friends, family and a ton of pink treats!
